Best Mamie Eisenhower’s Fudge

Directions:

1. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.

2. In a large saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, salt, butter, and evaporated milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.

3. Once the mixture begins to boil, cook for 6 minutes, stirring continuously to prevent burning.

4. Remove the saucepan from heat and add the semisweet chocolate chips, German sweet chocolate, and marshmallow creme. Stir until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth.

5. If using, fold in the chopped nuts.

6. Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

7. Let the fudge cool completely at room temperature, then refrigerate until firm.

8. Once set, cut the fudge into squares and serve.
