Instructions

  • 1. Make the Dough:

In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Mix well.
In another bowl, combine warm milk, melted butter, and eggs. Add this mixture to the dry ingredients.
Gradually add the remaining flour, ½ cup at a time, until a soft dough forms.

  • 2. Knead the Dough:

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  • 3. First Rise:

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.

In a bowl, mix together the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until well combined.

  • 5. Roll Out the Dough:

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll it out into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick.

Spread the cinnamon filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle nuts and raisins if using.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

While the rolls are baking, beat together the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.

  • 12. Frost and Serve:

Once the rolls are out of the oven, let them cool slightly, then spread the cream cheese frosting on top while they’re still warm.
