Instructions:
Cook the Pasta:
In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Sauté the Shrimp:
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the shrimp, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp are pink and cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
Make the Sauce:
In the same skillet, add the broth and bring to a simmer. If using, stir in the heavy cream and remaining butter, cooking for another 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to combine. Return the shrimp to the skillet, adding lemon juice and mixing well.
Serve:
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with grated Parmesan cheese on top.
